I. High frequency electronic transformer has two main concepts:

(I)One is "electronics", which is different from power transformer and RF signal transformer. According to the field of switching power converter I am engaged in, "electronics" here should refer to "power electronics".

(II)The second is "high frequency". Traditionally, high frequency is above 20kHz, but at present, the understanding of high frequency in different fields may be different. At high frequency, the key to improve the power density of transformer is the design technology of transformer. Because of the importance of high frequency and eddy current loss, traditional design methods can not meet the requirements of high frequency, so the core and winding of design become more and more important.

(II)The requirement of low plane transformer makes PCB coil widely used, but the design of transformer brings new difficulties, especially the air gap of transformer, such as sweep transformer, harmonic transformer and power factor correction inductor(PEC inductor).

III. High frequency transformers mainly used in the field of high-frequency power conversion.

Generally speaking, electronic transformers are oriented towards high frequency, planar, integrated, modular fast, array, hybrid direction and the following new analysis methods, such as electromagnetic field analysis method and design of new technology, such as optimization design, multi-domain integrated design, and the challenge of new manufacturing technology to traditional technology. Due to the development of frequency and magnetic materials, many semiconductor processing technologies can be applied in the manufacture of high frequency transformers, or transformers are discrete devices, which can be integrated with power converters through thick and thin film technology as a whole.
