What is transformer clip?

When assembling high frequency transformer(fixed the winding bobbin and magnetic core), it is necessary to use a clip (Transformer steel iron clip) to clamp the outer periphery to fix it, so that it can achieve a stable inductance when the transformer working. This metal clip is called transformer steel clip (iron clip, cir clip).

We classify according the production process:

The first type: stamping molding---cleaning---packaging and shipping;(this type is suitable for stainless steel SUS301 clip material production)

The second type: stamping---heat treatment---urface tin plating---packaging and shipping;(this type is suitable for SK7 material production)

The third type: stamping---surface tin plating---packaging and shipping (this type is suitable for the production of phosphor bronze C5191 material)

Material selection and material characteristics difference:

The transformer iron clamp mainly matched with high frequency transformer function design when selecting materials for the stamping process.

I, If considering the cost and cost performance of iron clips, we generally choose SK7 as the raw material for iron clips; SK7 material is high carbon steel which is synthesized by adding carbon, silicon and manganese elements. It is used after quenching and hardening, and has excellent wear resistance. The hardness before stamping is about 13-15HRC, and the molding traceability is good. It has certain guarantee for the dimensional control during stamping. After the product is stamped and formed, it is quenched by vacuum heat treatment to 55-60HRC, and then tempered to 38. -42HRC, at this time, the hardness control is stabilized in this range. If the magnetic core is too hard, it will be brittle. If it is too soft, the clamping force will not be required. After the heat treatment, the surface of the iron clip will be electroplated with tin and electroplated with tin. The layer is mainly to achieve the solderability of the lead and the rust and oxidation resistance of the surface.

II, Another material is stainless steel. Stainless steel materials are often concerned with better resilience. They have a certain deformation space during assembly, which can better play the fastening effect. This material has better rust prevention. The oxidation resistance is mainly due to the fact that the material contains different proportions of nickel. Nickel can form nickel oxide in humid air to prevent further oxidation. Nickel has strong acid and corrosion resistance. Nickel is also a comparison. Expensive materials, so stainless steel materials are combined into different grades by different types of elements; common such as SUS201, SUS301, SUS304, SUS316, etc.; can also be compared by the following content:

201 :C≤0.15 Ni3.5~4.50 Cr16.00~18.00,Mn<=5.5--7.50 si<=1.0 s<=0.030 p<=0.035<>

301: C≤0.15 Ni6.00~8.00 Cr16.00~18.00,Mn<=2.0 si<=1.0 s<=0.030 p<=0.035<>

316: C≤0.08 Ni10.00~14.00 Cr16.00~18.00,Mo2.00---3.00 Mn<=2.0 si<=1.0 s<=0.030 p<=0.035<>

According to the current market price of materials, the price of 316 grade is more expensive than the other three, 201 is a relatively cheap grade; usually the cost of stainless steel is higher; therefore, the choice of transformer steel clip material is usually Both use SUS301 as the best, the performance can achieve the elasticity required for assembly, and the price is also affordable. In addition, SUS301 and SUS304 have their own advantages in flexibility, and SUS304 is more suitable for the production of parts for recycling. The SUS301 focuses on the stability and durability of the resilience. Therefore, the choice of SUS301 for the transformer steel clip has just met the needs of the core assembly function.

III, There is also a C5191 (phosphorus copper) material, which is corrosion-resistant and has high corrosion resistance to rare and fatty acids; therefore, the material is a grade of copper series, so copper is in many electronic appliances of our company. The industry has some applications, but the cost of materials is also higher than other materials; C5191 phosphor bronze is a synthetic material with copper, tin and phosphorus as the main elements, which effectively enhances oxidation resistance and weldability due to the addition of tin. The good performance, phosphorus copper has better elasticity than other copper materials, so it is suitable for the production of various types of clips. Generally, when C5191 material is used as the transformer iron clamps, it is used in the higher end products. Or a product with high requirements for stability.
